I'm eyeing off a 2002 TD5 Auto Discovery, has anyone out there had any experience with them. I think I'm going to start getting serious about modifying my 94 disco so I need another one for the handbreak (hope she doesn't read this)

Being somewhat old school I'm a bit sceptical of all the electronic wizadry and their longevity (nothing beats driving skill).

Basically what I'm asking, is the 2002 TD5 OK or should I look at a different model?

any comments greatly appreciated

I also understand any comments are personal views based on personal experience - usually the best kind

Cheers

Go for it!! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Mine is a 2001 TD5 auto 5 seat. I just love it on and off road - real off road, none of this gravel public highway stuff...

The only drama if you could call it that is my radiator started to leak after 90,000km's. This was replaced under warranty and I was told that the 2001 Discos had "thin wall" radiators and the later models got "thick walled" radiators so the 2002 model shouldn't be a problem.

Traction control - don't be shy to use a bit more right boot. It is almost as good as diff locks!

I feel the Hill Descent Control lets the car down a little too fast for my liking. Especially down some fairly technical descents. The updated Disco (the current one) has better (slower) control, I'm told.
