OK got it, that was November 2000 at Dry Creek (!!!) on the Zeka spur track near Wonnangatta, The creek was flooded due to the amount of rain (it was Victoria) and was a long weekend for some reason.
There were about 30 or so vehicles trapped the wrong side of the creek that wanted to go home, the only way through the creek was to be snatched.
We had around 4 hours of entertainment watching.
One little Izuzu KB ute went totally underwater during it's snatch and some bright spark put a winch cable through the handle of a trailer hitch to winch the trailer through...no prizes for guessing what happened!!
