Insane fuel usage by 3.9

Hi all,

I have a 3.9L auto, disco and it uses upwards of 25L/100km of fuel around town. standard size all terrain tires

I previously owned a 3.9L Range rover classic with a manual box, and it sat all day at 15L/100km.

I have replaced all the filters and changed oil every 7-10,000. Is there any mechanical reason for the high usage?
