I have searched high and low to find a answer but all seems to be ok with the Discovery 1 its the 2 that seems to have the similar issue i have. Under acceleration i have a metal squeek squeek squeek. its not the belt or any of the pulleys. So seeing that it only occurs under load it would indicate the driveline after the flywheel. the squeek isnt muffled so that rules out it being in the box or transfer etc. I spoke to a fellow down at TRS he advised its the front tailshaft that needs greasing and these are unlikly to give out on the series 1. im getting a small vibration but not all the time and i checked the UJs and they have little to no play.
Has anyone else had a similar issue, its doing my head in any advise would be appreciated!

So have you greased the uni's on the front shaft now?

Certainly sounds like a dry universal joint.

A very close look at the uni joints with a strong torch will show brown metal dust around the seals of crook unis. Get the unis replaced ASAP if you see any rust dust as this means the uni is bone dry and self destructing.
