The show was good, a bit disjointed but some nice machinery. The usual mob of secondhand dealers and bottom feeder salesmen. The Mig and Hunter flypast was great, they had almost gone past by the time you heard them.

We flew up in the little yellow machine (Pacer). Went home via North Stradbroke and Morten, wildlife everywhere, must have seen a thousand Mantas, whole squadrons and solitary. Saw 4 Dugongs with one just near the Tangalooma airfield so we landed there for a while, bewdy spot the beach is just a short walk. A nice green 90 went passed just after we landed. At low tide there are thousands of airfields, these islands are Queenslands best kept secret, closer than Fraser and more wildlife. I would like to take the series one up there for a longer look at things, one of these days......years.

Yeah it was a good show.

Got to see a Catalina in the air - Magic :!:

Nice Yak-5 with a big cat air-brushed on the side too.

And the guys in the Caribou put on a good show as well.
Damn those things go sideways well !

Can't wait for your pics Incy.

Get on it.

I labelled a couple of the photos in the gallery for those who don't know some of those planes.

I also have a heap more photos but as they are on 35mm I have to wait til I can get access to a scanner before I post some. I have a few great pics of the Caribou and MiG.

What's the go with the gallery for this one? There's no option to add comments ?!

Does anyone know any details of that Catalina ? Whose is it, where does it live, etc ?

I've been doing the same as Vlad, adding a few aircraft names to the pics.

Oh, and who labeled the Boeing Stearman as a Beechcraft Staggerwing  style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Someone labeled the seaking pic wrong

It should be MK50a seaking tail number N16-114

Phoenix

 that would be me, I just labeled it with the generic US designation for the Sea King, feel free to correct it
