Hi all.
Another wild idea I have been thinking about.
Buying a farm and need a tractor to run various implements, but then I thought, I have the best darn tractor there is, sitting on the driveway.
So, can anyone tell me if it is possible to retro fit a PTO from the puma transmission?
Cheers

They stopped being a seudo tractor decades ago. IMO do not bother. Keep the LR for what it is good at and get the tractor you need.

Start by cutting a big hole in your rear crossmember...
Would probably be cheaper buying a Series, finding a PTO and adapting it to run a rear linkage, than trying to find an LT230 PTO and butchering your chassis to suit.
I can't imagine modern automotive diesel engines with EGR/DPF etc coping too well with sustained unfluctuating revs.

Yes, I thought there would be a gear ratio to PTO problem with the synchronising, but needed someone else to point that out.
Cheers for that guys.

I asked something similar a long time ago, as I recall it stopped being an option with the end of the 300tdi (I think), seem to remember a 1995 uk sales brochure mentioning it as an option.

You could fit a hydraulic pump........not sure what you could run off it

3 point linkage on tractors are mostly hyd controlled, but you still have no mechanical PTO drive shaft.
