I have purchased two Carling Technologies switches < V-Series: Contura II & III | carlingtech.com (http://www.carlingtech.com/rocker-switches-v-series-ii-iii) > which I intend to mount in my Mudpod. The first is a Winch Power switch (essentially on/off switch) and the second is a Winch In/Winch Out switch (essentially on/off/on switch I think).
The idea for the Winch Power switch came from < www.discovery2.co.uk* / Winch Cut - Out (http://www.discovery2.co.uk/winchcut_out.html) >, as at present I use a battery master switch (such as Products (http://www.narva.com.au/products/detail/plastic-battery-master-switch-with-removable-key/noheaders/1/?KeepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=500&width=720&modal=true&parent=switches-popup-layout) ) which was included in the box with the winch, but has previously failed on me from corrosion in the contacts, and thought this would be a handy way to replace it.
The winch that I have is an Ironman Monster Winch 9500lb steel cable - it's been superseded now by a new model < Ironman 4x4 Monster Winch (http://www.ironman4x4.com/html/mwinch12.html) >
Now, my actual question are:
1. where would I purchase a solenoid such as the one that Urban Panzer has used? He refers to it as a ""single" Albright solenoid", but that doesn't seem to come up with much in my Google searching?
2. instead, could I replace the original control box that was included with the winch, and the battery master switch with a single solenoid pack that I can turn on using a switch on the dash and control the wind in/out with a dash switch?
