The car would weigh around 350kgs. I think a trailer would have been an easier build. So I wonder what led to this brain stormer.

Can't say much about the stability of the ramp system or of the Land Rover with that much weight on the roof! :o

S1s were particularly renown for falling over!

In the U.K currently you'd have about 2 dozen heart attacks going home through all the off camber roundabout's ! :D

Apparently when he hooks his trailer on - there's not enough room on it for the racing car.

The trailer is already fully loaded with all the bits & pieces of ramp that he uses to get the racing car on & off the Landie ................ :p

Probably to save space on the Channel Ferry therefore cheaper. Don't think you would want to go negotiating The Alps like that.
