Defender bought what next

So I've just collected my defender and on top of the work needed to get her running spot on I've got a little bit set aside with the dream of her becoming a go anywhere camper.

So far she has a bull bar and a 2 inch lift

Tomorrow she is booked in for windows to be tinted and Friday she is off to have the power issue looked at.

But my real question is where do I go from here?

I'm thinking remap and a decent stereo install but that's at most 2k leaving me with about 3 to 4 left to spend now and I'll save for the future stuff

So what would you do?

A spare wheel carrier that doesn't rely on the door hinges is a good investment as the weight of the wheel is liable to crack the door frame-I have a Rijidij carrier on my 110.
A cargo barrier is a sensible idea to keep the back of your head seperate from your luggage in the event of a sudden stop.
Perhaps drawers or a fridge slide, depending how you like to pack and camp.
Other than that, drive it till you learn to get the most from it, then start adding traction upgrades if necessary.

Never look at AULRO again or hang with other defender owners, it will only cause you to want & spend money on bolt on bits, spend hours dreaming of more bolt on bits and ways to make it go harder/faster/higher (correspondingly not spend the required time to earn the money to spend on bits and bobs).

Otherwise (in no particular order):

a) enjoy the experience of owning a Defender and getting to know her unique qualities;
b) learn the defender wave;
c) put fuel in her when empty to continue the journey to far away lands.

Quality stereo sound in a defender is a battle you can't win. Lack of insulation and thin panels with air gaps all over the place are not conducive to quality sound dynamics. That said if you go nuts on the stereo you won't hear anything else which could be a solution to the defender build quality.

Drive it with other Defender owners and you will get accessory-envy and this will tell you the stuff that you don’t need but WANT :D

That's the approach I took - six speakers (plus splits), two amps, a quality head unit and a great big sub did the job! :D

Also decided to replace the stereo so have bought a pioneer head unit, some 4 inch speakers for the front and a kicker in built sub amp thing for under the seat.

If that doesn't work and I'm not sure it will at least it will sound better than standard.

Tomorrow she is in garage for a check over and to sort one or two little niggles. But so far it's great driving everywhere and not rushing is a great experience

Getting excited will be picking Betty up from sbl in a bit having had the following done
Egr blank plate fitted
Silicon intercooler hoses
Alloy alliard radiator and intercooler fitted
Remapped trs ecu fitted
Steering guard protector fitted
Chequer plate wing kit fitted

And hopefully they figured out how to fit my tigers side awning because for the life of me I couldn't.
