Well the crew assembled and departed right on the advertised time .

A slow sojourn up the highway to the roys road turnoff and then off on the dirt to go under the highway to finish the drive down to the orange orchard and beyond.

just made it thru on the under pass before a semi swung around the corner at speed to use the underpass...

anyway the rest of the journey to the picinic spot was uneventful and most enjoyable.

we wet a line for a couple of hours and consoled ourselves over the lack of fish in the creel with a nice piece of pie and a cup of coffee before departing on the return journey.

we took the scenic route via beerwah and landsborough before landing back on the highway tucked in behind a defender towing a bloody great van!

we turned off at the toorbul exit, shared a wave with the fender and quietly returned to our starting point.

a most enjoyable day and well worth the effort.....

hopefully a few other that like wetting a line and a picnic by the river will join us in the future ( the fishing is usually much better !) with a bit more notice

Sounds like a nice relaxing day outing :)

BTW, How much advanced warning do the fish need to guarantee a feed :D

That looks brilliant, Dave - I would have come along, even with the hour notice, but was in Mt Tamborine at a B&B celebrating Kat's Birthday.....great pictures....very keen to get involved with little day trips such as these - now that I can! :)

Feel free to claim the fish I posted!
