Can't seem to attach multiple images using 'manage attachments'. Why?

I've searched the forum threads and can't find any references to the issue I'm having so hopefully someone more cluey than me can help

I can attach only one image to a post using the 'manage attachments' tool at the bottom of the page where I'm posting. When I try to add another image it just ends up replacing the first one. I'm doing this all from my ipad and the images I'm selecting are in my photo app.

What am I doing wrong?

I am by no means a forum guru, but i tend to upload pictures to flikr then post the link inside picture quotes "type link here"

no need for " at either end
