I'm doing a trial fitment of the terra firma shocks, and both front bags have got heavy chaffing on the rear of the front spring hangers.
Had any one else had this problem?
I know all Rovers can vary in their build dimensions slightly. ..

Having trouble with pictures, here's the passenger side.
I'm thinking it may be a heat related issue. It seems like the rubber has gotten hot from touching the hanger, and 'balled' up as the compound has gotten soft. It could well have been those few 45 degree days. But if this is the case I won't be the only one with troubles.
As I've got to put a 1 inch spacer in to use the full droop of the new shockers, I'll put the spacer on top of the spring al'la HRA, and it'll avoid this rubbing issue.

Yeah I've not seen that before! My Gen III's are about 4yrs old and haven't shown any signs of chafing!
It appears like it could be heat related. Is the other side the same? If not, perhaps at some stage you may have had something stuck in that spot (a bit of plastic bag)??
I know what you mean about the heat, it's been 40's up here too. They do well to keep cool in these temps!
Cheers

Haven't seen it either. I read somewhere that if the bags are pumped up too much for the high setting (higher than usual) it can cause them to rub as they bellow out more..... But I would have thought the bags would bellow out more when the wheel is pushed right up (higher pressure) so not so sure about what I read.

Is reassuring to hear others havn't had troubles. I definately do not want to go back to oem bags!
Yes it's the same on the drivers side too, chaffing is .4mm deep.
Running through the heights it only comes into contact as the diff rolls back slightly below standard ride height; I'd hate to think what is like fully pushed up from offroad height.
I knew the bags were a close fit when I put them on, so cleaned any dirt and welding slag off.
The westar gen3 springs on my classic touched the spring hangers like this, but never chaffed at all, they just had a nice polish to them.
I've emailed Arnott with photos...

Might sound silly, but is there any movement in the front diff/axle assy. Perished rubbers etc causing any movement.

The upper shock rivets have a very slight knock to them, but the rest is tight as drum.
I'll see probably on Tuesday what arnott say.
