my poor old oilskin swag has just about had it's day so it's time to look into replacements
was thinking of getting the good old saul swag but thought i would see if anyone has found something else that does the job as well at a better price or with a better feature
don't want or need a domed swag, as i usually plonk myself down on a stretcher with the swag on top ;)

G'day Inc,
I do the same thing with mine,, on a stretcher, just makes it so much more comfy. Unfortunately, I cant find the name on it, but I remember it was cheap as chips, but a "no name" type brand. Its quite a light weight unit,, still keeps the water out, has two hoops, one to keep it off your head and one over your waist. The only problem I have with it, is the fly screen is very hard and annoying. Something you might want to check with whatever you buy.
I've watched guys with the expensive units, and personally, I dont think mines too bad.

Hello from Brisbane.
I have a couple of Viking king single swags - made locally and seem to be pretty good.
Saul swags are good too.
Cheers,

Mr Swagman do a good swag so I'm told, same as the Saul swag, made here, excellent quality and around the same price too.
Couldn't go wrong with either really.

The missus old swag is a Southern Cross bed roll swag, got to be 30yrs old, still in good nick, don't know if they still do a bed roll swag though.
We now have a Burke & Wills double dome, bit bulky but a very good quality swag and made here.
This could be an option also.

Southern Cross still do a bed roll style swag - they call it the "Zip Swag" these days. I have one of the older versions of their bed roll swags. Great quality - I've had it for years and it's had a hard life - still in good nick and gets used regularly.
We recently bought a Southern Cross King Dome swag. Again, great quality and a good swag - but is very big & bulky when rolled up.

Saul... A great choice.
Quality workmanship and Australian made. I have a double and single and have been very happy with them.
And in this day and age it is a blast from the past to make an order by emai/phone and a week or so later it arrives COD at the post office.
Cheers

Just bought an Oztent bunker. Got sick of my cheepo swag and wanted some comfort, but as I mainly camp up in the high country in winter  I need good gear and well off the ground. I have not taken delivery yet so hope I made the right choice!
