What could this be? vibration

Hi all,
I have a 2010 D4 65,000km with Genral Grabber AT's, between 94kph and 104kph I get a high frequency vibration which feels like it comes from the front drivers side wheel. I took it to the stealer June last year who said they can't find anything wrong with the vehicle and it must be the tyres.
I've had the tyres balanced and rotated and wheel alignement done and there is no change, the vibration seems to come from the same front drivers side wheel.

Has anyone had anything similar? my gut feel is it's not the tyres, I do get road noise from the tread but the vibration doesn't move when I rotate the tyres around.
I'm due for another tyre rotation and was going to ask for a high speed balance (they did this once before on a BMW for me as it got the wobbles at 100kph) but I don't think this will fix it.

Could be a front wheel bearing, they typically present as a noise similar to that generated by mud tyres. You can check by jacking the wheel in question and seeing if there is any movement in the bearing. If movement is present replace the bearing.

This is very similar to what is happening with my D3. I have worked through a number of things, such as tyres and wheelbearings, and made changes which have improved things but have not completely fixed it. I am continuing to look, and I will certainly post anything I find. I am looking forward to anything you may find.

I have the same issue and believe that it's the tyres. I had to put new boots on the 2010 TDV6 at 33k as the wranglers were over. I put on the GG ATs and everything was fine at first. After about 25k on the GG ATs I started to notice the vibration at the same speed range you mentioned but most noticeable when on nice smooth surfaces.

I wasn't to worried about it but I gave my neighbour a lift one day and he noticed the noise and said there is something not right with the tyres - he is now retired but was involved in the tyre industry for 30+ years including being the tyre guy for one of the Aust touring car teams for many years (not sales guy but techo).

When we got home we checked it out, pressures etc and noticed that down the middle of the tread that two seams have started to show through after the tyres have had some wear. This doesn't appear on the unused spare.

He believes that this is from the way the tyres where manufactured and it appears that one seam wants to pull the tyre one way and the other seam the opposite way. He thinks the 90-100k speed range must be the sweet spot where these seams create the vibration.

His advice was not to worry too much about it even though it is annoying as the tyres still appear to be structurally sound but also recommended not to go for the GG ATs next time because of this.

Annoying problem - yes. Unsafe or causing damage to the drivetrain - probably not.

From my point of view, I'll leave them as be because they will last out the life of the vehicle (whilst I own it). The plan is for a 2015 D4 (or D5 if it happens to be available).

Anyone else with GG ATs with similar K's and the same issue?
