For those of you out there that are just a bit more obsessed about your landrovers, where owning a landrover is just not enough.... and forces you to track down merchandise or anything that has even a mention about landrovers...

I walked into the local collectable shop in Bundy that stocks model cars, coins, stamps, and other really cool stuff... and have been chasing model landrovers for yonks and haven't had any luck....
Well that all changed today!

I have come across two sets of little Series III landrovers that are simply fantastic!!
The collection is simply named "Cararama", but that applies to the other sets of collectables which feature VW Bugs, and Morris Mini's ect ect.

Each set is a set of six 1/72 Scale landrovers in different colours.
They are all "rag top" (canvas roof) landrovers, but three have roofs and three don't (have the hoops in place instead).
The set that I have at the moment is obviously a military related set as there is a cammed up rover, a tan coloured Ambulance, two United Nations LR's dressed in that un-mistakeable white paint, and two other plain painted ones.
They are about the size of your standard matchbox car, and are diecast with plastic components, and get this..... little rubber free wheeling tyres!! YAY!! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif
Attention to detail is pretty good to be honest, with little number plates and the UN unit markings.

If you are interested in chasing some down - the Series Number is 716/716X.

I'm going back tomorrow to get the other set cause they are just too cool! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

I think they are the perfect touch to any collection.... to have the real thing sitting outside and some fine little replicas sitting inside style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Where yours a particular make or collection?

Yeah I think I have seen the little green disco in the shops. Every time I have gone back to get it, its been sold!
I was rather suprised to see it actually, and quite pleased to see that they are making decent little cars for the kids... unlike some of the new matchbox cars which don't look like anything these days!
I remember when I used to collect them and I had mercedes, porshe 911's, and ferrari F40 ect ect.... but these days.... the cars are like something from the future and from my point of view look rather silly... but I guess thats what kids want these days....

Hi All
Incisor's set is quite nice, I have a BBURAGO Raid 110 in brown No 143 and a very nice Machbox 90 style no 16 in green and an early Corgi Whizzwheels Series 1 109 truck cab repainted in olive that I picked up at the markets BUT the pick would have to be the Series 3 Shorty H/top that my daughter did for me in Cross-Stitch that sits framed on the mantle 8)
