G'Day All

Looking to update my recovery gear after it failed during my last "catastrophe" .. so price is no longer the number one criteria (but still important)

Has anyone had any good / bad experiences with the BOGBUSTER range of recovery gear that is for sale on Gumtree?? Looking at the Snatch Straps and Snath Blocks in particular. Searched the forums but can not find any reviews / comments about them. Then again perhaps that should answer my question:p

Also found in one of the posts that Bunnings sell snatch straps - any comments on those?

Buy your recovery equipment from a rigging supply company like "Bullivants", Google rigging suppliers for outlets near you, they may not sell snatch straps though, snatch blocks need to have the largest dia. wheel/pulley for your rope/wire.
The small one's sold by 4x4 retailers are too small in dia. and will cause damage (kinking, broken wires), Regards Frank.

I generally go with the more established brands...........my arb strap would be 10 years old, I look after it and its looked after me.....sure I paid a few more dollars way back then but I reckon that's the reason why I haven't had to replace it

Snatch strap from Gumtree?

Vehicle recovery is potentially a very serious game and I wouldn't trust anything that is not sold by a reputable seller. You are effectively putting your own health and those around you in its hands. Especially with snatch strap.

As above, look at a rigging supplier but generally these wont have any elasticity. Nothing wrong with a static pull but it does not always work. Sometimes its nice to have both! Can you have TOO much recovery gear? :D

Another vote for ARB. My snatch strap is pretty old and not had any trouble with them.
