I have a TD6 02 and really love it. Other than an issue I had with a coolant leak (ended up as a cracked head$$$$) the car is great and makes cruising to and from the farm a pleasure.
Have a small problem when trying to open the cd stacker door nothing happens. Is there a quick fix or is it a case of a new unit?

Hi Boxpacker

Have exactly the same vehicle with exactly the same problem with CD Stacker.
So I will be waiting with great interest for any replies, and hope its not a new unit required.

Guys, I have the same problem with mine. The radio shop quoted something like $600 to replace unit about 6 years ago as it "couldnt be repaired". I googled the problem and came up with the following which is not a permanent fix but gets the system going until the problem happens again - which in my case is not that frequent.
Slide open the access door and give the cartridge a sharp tap with your fingers on the right hand side (of the cartridge), one or two taps should freeup the changer which jambs part way accross. Press the green button to release the cartridge and recheck all cd's slide easily into the cartridge. I opted for a wired up link to my Ipod rather than replace the changer. Dension (from UK) make a good unit which performs very well.
Hope this helps.

Hi Peter
Much appreciate your post and bingo it worked as far as getting the cassette out. I checked all the CD's and put the cassette back in and when I pressed the mode for CD you beaut it started the CDC check. Alas, that's all it did until the message again said no discs.
Hope you have some more tricks in your little bag.
Regards
Denis

Hi Dennis,
Sorry cant help any further, mine only gives problem intermittently and I put up with it, (and mostly use the Ipod). I think Ipod is a much better fix than replacing changer, unless you can find a cheap one.
regards
Peter

Hi Peter and Denis
I tried your remedy and it worked. Gave the unit a sharp tap
After taking out the cassette I gave the area a blow out with compressed air ( low)
I put in the cassette a second time and it has worked fine ever since
So thank you very much:)

Yeah, mine does the same thing. I give it a good whack and it'll come good for a while.

Replacement with an intravee would sort it once and for all.

Thank you Peter G, I have had this problems from >2 years now, fixed with just a couple of taps!:D

BTW only works when the CD/Radio system has power going, i.e. switched on.

I've been upgrading from the old standard entertainment unit to the MFD system with all the addons; DSP, GPS, voice recognition, TV, phone.
Still waiting for a DSP and some phone components ( but mightn't bother).
So far the GPS working well.
I am also upgrading the CD stacker to a Sony one that reads MP3 as well; I've got a "conversion box" ex BMW that is supposed to make it happen.
Will keep advising as it goes.
Yes, made up my own loom!

Regrettably, it hasn't worked for me. Maybe that's why the PO left it in when he sold the car. It did, however, come out the first time I tried just after buying the car.

At the moment is says no discs.

I hope the unit can be removed easily - it doesn't look like it.
