Hi Ferno, style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif
First of all VIN numbers as a term did not come in until the advent of Australian ADR's All prior to that were always known as CHASSIS No's and BODY No's
From the photos posted it looks a Series 2--2a, and by the Dash Instruments I would put it at between 59---61 Series 2 or at the latest a 64 Series 2a being a long wheelbase the Chassis No will be on the rear spring hanger on the LEFT REAR SPRING If Series 2 will read 151xxxxxxx If Series 2a same place and reads 253xxxxxxxxx if you give the No i will date it from my Master parts Books,
Cheers Rocket style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif 8)

Hi Ferno style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif
Ho here, Calvin wins a chuppa-chup, 8O style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif
It is indeed a 1960 model, chassis No 1334 off the line in 60 year build, it is a RHD CKD (Complete Knock Down) and would have assembled at Leyland /BMC in Sydney at Milperra, the body ,No 2463 would have been built at Pressed Metal Corp at Chullora and mated up at Milperra. the same set up as Incisor's Shorty.

Hey Ferno,
Are you cornering the market on Series 2's as they are both series 2 models, the quick way to ID ser2 is Chassis No 14xxxx = ser2 -88" 15xxxx = Ser 2 109" for Series 2a's the Chassis No starts with 2, I.E. 24xxxx = 88" and 25xxxx = 109" that's all I will tell you,
153101354 == 1961-------1353rd chassis produced in 61 year model probably built about October 1960 in UK (model year Sept-Aug) the other one probably in late 59, if one or both are ex-army they are some of avery few left, Are you going to split up the new one for parts :?: style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif what is wrong with it ? :? the Body No 3743 would be the 3742nd built for that year. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

 it is with great regret that the new vehicle (ironically the oldest one!)will be destined for dis-assembly due to fair amounts of rust in the chassis and some real bodgey patchwork on the firewall.
the rear x-member is frazzed, a couple of outriggers have rust ,and the main chassis rail over the rear axle is de-laminating,eg the bottom of the box section is coming adrift and splitting style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif
however, the main body panels are fine , the rear tub is in excelent condition so may put that on the ex-mil greeny ,so it will be the green/white beasty! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif I can see a paint job coming on :x
