G'day All
I'm hoping someone smarter than me could point me in the right direction re my trip computer. It doesn't work at all and I'm at a loss as to where to start looking Re fixing it if possible. The trip display works fine but the secondary fuel usage ect doesn't Any advice much appreciated

Bruce,

just to clarify, when you push the information button (pimple on the end of the indicator stalk) nothing changes on the display?

I had the same problem and removed the cowl around the steering column and found a loose connection from the indicator stalk. I just unplugged it , cleaned and the plugged it back in again, and away it went.

Hopefully a quick unplug, clean and reconnect will do the trick, otherwise it may be a replacement stalk

Good luck, Gary

Hi Bruce, what year/model is your P38? i.e. is it a HSE or "S"..4.0 or 4.6etc

It appears some models were not "apparently" fitted with a trip computer...i.e. it's there but not activated :o

It may simply be that the trip computer is not "switched on" in the BECM. To test this, you will need access to a Test Book or Faultmate setup. I am not familiar enough with the Nanocom to know whether it has the capacity to read/reset the option in the BECM...

A Faultmate is usually coded to a specific VIN but a TestBook or Nanocom is not vehicle specific. LR dealers may or may not be sympathetic to allowing you a quick look. If they do it's simply a matter of checking the box beside the item in a screen menu and it's done. Probably less than 5 minutes to connect, fix and unplug!

Thanks Hoges
She's a 95 HSE 4.6 I'll run that info past Dave at RoverCentre after I try the unplug and clean the connection under the cowel first. Start with the simplest first
Thanks for that insite
