Please contact me moderators. Missing posts, WTF?

There could be many reasons why your posts are missing - read here - http://www.aulro.com/afvb/general-chat/82585-nb-where-has-my-thread-gone.html
Some of the time a Mod will PM you to let you know, but maybe if it is a repeat offence then it could be deleted without notification.
What posts in particular are you talking about? You could always PM one of the Mods for the forum where the post has been deleted, but you have our attention now, so what's up? :)

It can get quite busy for the mods, keep in mind they are volunteers.......and quite often don't have time to contact everybody for every bit of modding they do.
You might need tô give them a bit more info so can look into it

was just going to say that also, in relation to more info
Random when you say Moderated what do you mean was it edited moved or deleted?
I can answer the deleted one for you because i have checked every post and thread you have ever made and they are all there so we haven't deleted anything..so if you think someone thing has been deleted then the likelihood is you never hit the submit button and poosted it in the first place or you hit submit and your page timed out and again it never got posted:)

If it was in one of the recent contentious religious/political threads that have been moved to the cantina and you have not registered then you cannot see them - I don't believe that they have been deleted. register for the cantina and you might find them.
A number of mine disappeared and I assume that is what happened to them.

Jim if you dont follow the template then it will be deleted you hit submit but if it doesnt follow the template it goes in to a moderation queue to be deleted we can see it but no one else can (other than you when you first posted it but when you refresh the page it disappears).
The only time a post will be deleted after if has been OK'd is if one of the mods missed the fact the post never had a VIN number or didnt display a price either way stuff only gets deleted if it doesn't follow the rules within that forum:)

It has been moved to La Cantina, as per the discussion in this thread: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/general-chat/190788-general-chat-politcal.html
Just PM Incisor to gain access. I guess a word of apology to the mods wouldn't go amiss either

Word of apology...?
While vigorous debate was raging over politics in general chat I was in the great outdoors out of mobile communications range. When I got back on-line things have changed substantially, some of the posts I have made, one in particular pointed out moderation inconsistency, complained about the political slant. I had reported one (first and only time in any forum) for political/sexual/adolescent content.
Those posts and the entire thread were no longer visible to me so asking 'what the' should understandable. For my efforts I am being asked to apologise.
It has taken me 20 mins to research what happened and I would still be in the dark if I had not asked. My point here is that communication to the owners of content that has been rendered invisible would have been helpful.
The new arrangements are fine by me, care factor reducing. The logic of having to ask for access to the new area is questionable, the content not searchable, you should have just banned it. I will not be asking for access to it.

Pretty sure once posted, you are effectively no longer the owner of the content. There were enough posts moved to La Cantina that privately messaging every single contributor would take the volunteer moderator team hours to complete. There aren't enough hours in the day for that when the great outdoors beckons!

The term Owner was being used loosely. A single redirection placeholder where the old thread was would have done the job.

Are you talking about my post you reported?
That thread was moved to the Cantina. Your report helped move it there. That thread belonged there anyway.
Yes, your posts are still there and not deleted.
OK, so someone rearranged the furniture whist you were out. This happens regularly. A friendly PM to a moderator would usually sort it.

Redirection placeholders should inherit the same place and rights as the original (moved) thread title. I would have seen that and understood where it went.

Not at all - The Cantina was deliberately put out of the way so no one can see it unless they have specifically asked for access - there is a thread that tells why this is and how to gain access. This forum isn't a democracy and the only one with any 'rights' is the owner of the forum. We all play by his rules.:)
I think what a few people are trying to say here is that you could have gone about all this in a friendlier manner. The Mods are all here to help - one PM to any one of us would have had you the answer without all this fuss.
Anyway, now you know and we can all be happy again.:) Life's too short to spent too much time being grumpy.

The 'Riddle of the Purloined Posts' is quite easily explained really. Totalitarian regimes like China, North Korea and your location 'The Peoples Republic of Woodford' have one thing in common, a strict Internet filter. I'd suggest a query to your local shires Internet Security Police might resolve your issue. ;). But be careful, the bloke who confronted the tank in Tiananmen Square hasn't been seen since.
Seriously though, regarding your original post
Please contact me moderators. Missing posts, WTF?
I would have thought, for a forum newbie in particular, a more measured less confrontational approach would have been more likely to resolve your concerns in a civilised manner. :)
'Honey catches more flies than vinegar'
One thing though that AULRO does have in common with China and North Korea is that it is also a totalitarian regime under the control of our Supreme Leader - Incisor, (all hail Inc., all hail Inc.............bow, genuflect etc.). It is not a Kumbaya singing, hand holding, egalitarian Democracy, it can't be to survive and prosper. :)
I think the mods here deserve your thanks for their patient and informative explanations regarding your original provocative post. I agree with sheerluck here, they are also deserving of your apology.

I think that the members that complain in the way that a forum it is run do not have idea of the work and time that it is going behind the scenes.
And that work it is voluntary ;)
I guess that we should have a forum for grumpy post were the thread or post is redirected to the scrap bin automatically. It will work like a punching bag, one post and frustration it is over :D

Not playing by the rules was the original issue for the thread shift baricat however so clearly that does not always happen.
In some other subject matter forums I am a member of when a thread is shifted users are informed by a stub/placeholder advising them of the shift. "This thread has been moved". If that stub had been there in this case I would have clicked on it to find I did not have rights at the new location, with information about who to contact to get them. Either I have explained that badly, or it's just a dumb idea. It would reduce or eliminate questions to moderators when you move someones furniture. Not hard.
Yes I could have done it better, if I continue to use this forum I will use a PM to a moderator to questions on mysterious happenings.

If we were going to leave stubs everywhere cluttering up the place we may as well leave the posts where they were.
Mods often do leave stubs, me included, that terminate after a few hours or days. That the originator may not see the stub before it terminates is unfortunate. We have rules and moderators act on those rules, where time permits PMs do get sent.
With 204 active threads in the last 24 hours (not including moderator discussion), we don't always have the time to both read every post, discuss and moderate where necessary and then send out messages to everyone affected. As much as we try and would like to, it doesn't always happen.

Not as simple as that - before it was moved, it was playing by the rules - the rules were changed and the thread was shifted. No redirect was put in place as it would not have been deemed nessesary.
