Anyone know where you can get this or similar type of Rust Protection Chemical here in Oz:confused:
They say it's better than the old Wax type preventive measures.
If I can't locate the chems to DIY, Anyone know where to go in SEQ to have Rust Protection Chemicals applied to our (new) 4WD's

Geez, it's been years since I have seen ACF50 anywhere, trialled it on some trawler equipment in the late nineties ....... was impressed with the performance but unimpressed with the cost considering the limited use it would get...... still, a good product

ACF-50 - Block Chemical Australia (http://www.blockchemical.com/electrical)

Is that the same stuff?

I recently noticed this product made by "inox", it's called "Lanox MX4", I've seen it in Supercheap, on the can it says, "a must for beach driving, protect all parts from harmful corrosion, safe on all rubbers and doesn't wash off with water".
You could google it or try www.inoxmx.com (http://www.inoxmx.com)
Cheers, Pickles.

Well i'm confused - Everybody you talk to says buy my Electronic Corrosion Device, Is this now the "Best" way to Protect our 4WDs from Corrosion?

I have a New Defender coming from the Mother Country & they come with Corrosion starting from day 1 FOC, I was thinking of putting on a nice little chemical to spray In & Over the new D90 that will Fight & Protect from Rust from day 1. This will be a long term Daily Driver + always wanted a Defender since I was 21 only took 20+ years to get my act together & get one.

Q: What to do - Spray a "Lanolin" type product a "Oil" based product a "Wax" type product or the "Electronic" type product:confused: Hmmm maybe a combination of two Chem & Elec?

Q: What have you long term Land Rover Enthusiasts do that is Tried & Proven.
(other than stripping Galving & Painting a brand new Defender)

I've read things on - LanoxMX4, CorrosionBlock, Xtroll, Tectyl506 i've just confused myself now:eek:

Read around on here about the electronic rust protectors. You'll find some very strong opinions on them. ;)

I had my RRC endrusted in the first year of ownership of 13 years.
In that time no rust came through anywhere except one small bubble in the corner of the tailgate , which is folded metal and will always rust. I was able to stop it by applying the wax+acid that the Endrust guy gave to me 13 years ago.

Mine was only chemical with the black wax on the body /Chassis exterior and clear type wax in the cavities.
The clear /acid stuff dicoloured the paint where it touched it but seems magic in cavities.
Endrust
Endrust - the name you can trust (http://www.endrust.com.au/services.html)

Corroless and Rustlac were good products. They had quite a range. some of their stuff was active and contained phosphoric acid which continued to convert rust as it formed.

Just reading an article on old trucks and the Author states that positive earth vehicles suffer less from electrolytic corrosion than Negative earth vehicles and cites Land Rovers as an example claiming early models with Positive earth corrode less than later Negative earth Land Rovers, could there be any truth to this.
