Welcome to the forum.
Looks mostly Series 3 to me. Post up more pictures. Do you have a chassis number?
Looks fairly straight. I think that's a military brush bar.
Enjoy the project.

Mick, Lachy is a local here, oh and dad as well, and yes much discussion on the outer appearance, they drove it home. Chassis number states series 2a. Lachy will have his work cut out since there is going to be a diesel put into it:D

Great project.
Have a chat with Sitec about putting a diesel into a 2a.

Hi Mick, I'm Scott, Lachy's Dad.
We actually reckon the suffix A is 1963.

There are some more picks on my original thread (before Lachy got his own username) under "The Defender's father has arrived".

Early (62/63 ?) LWB 2A that came in as a CKD (complete knock down). Had a quick look at the ex-mil list and could not find it there, so it appears to be civy.

MODS - can we please merge the threads to save confusion?
My original thread was "The Defender's father has arrived" in the S11A forum.
Many thanks.

That's fine. This is Squirrel's thread.
He has very politely introduced himself.

Hey Lachy

Great to see you finally found a host for your engine. Cant get to Kyogle this weekend unfortunately (will be in Sydney, just bought my son Nathan a new 4wd and we have to drive it back). Look forward to watching the build with many more photo's please. If you need some bits, I still have some things left over from Ralph and Smeg you can have.

Cheers Ian

Bugger you can't make the Kyogle run, but I'm sure we'll catch up again before Numinbah (Easter). Thanks for the offer on the leftover bits and pieces, we're going to need them :D
