A friend of our daughter has a 1999 TD5 Defender stuck at a Mechanical Workshop in Gove (Nhulunbuy) for quite some time
The original problems with the vehicle were fuel related and this was sorted. There is now a further problem and it appears the 10AS immobiliser has either failed or is our of sync with the ECU (if that is possible) There is little test gear other than Nanocom EVO
I believe there is no easy fix, you can't just replace the 10AS unit. I am told Test Book is required to reprogramme the unit or a replacement 10AS.
Can anyone advise if a Nanocom is of any help. We will be passing through Nhulunbuy next week and can have a look with our Nanocom
If I brought the ECU and the 10AS unit back, is there someone who is capable to repair - re-sync to the existing or to a new unit?
A little generic info below
