LR roof bar key

I'm going to be asking a lot of questions I think!:D

My car has got 2 LR roof bars that lock into the rails. Unfortunately the guy I bought the car from didn't have any keys so I can't adjust or remove them.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to what my options are?

If he doesn't know where they were bought I would suggest popping into a locksmith. They can "reset" the lock and provide a set of keys.

Not sure of the cost but I don't think it would be astronomical. Depends how much you want to remove the bars.

Does the lock have any numbers on it?
If so suggest contact dealer and may be able to purchase appropriate key.
(I have had Thule bars and accessories and been able to purchase replacement key/s from Thule dealer).

I'm pretty sure that those roof bars are made by Thule. Look for those numbers then contact Thule.

thanks guys - I'll give Thule a try.
they are set too far apart for my roof boot and any of the kids surfboards. I wouldn't mind getting rid of them and putting something else a bit more versatile actually. Maybe some sort of basket?

Do a search here for roof racks, cages etc. There is some good info already here with photos etc and peoples opinions.

got a new key from the local Thule dealer - had it in stock too!
