Yes I saw the old thread http://www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130-defender-county/120125-defender-seat-covers.html

but that is a few years out of date now.

Looking for seat cover options for front seats (our comfort and seat protection) and rear seat (so dog doesn't destroy the quality vinyl :lol2: )

Thoughts ?

Remember Im a tight arse whenever I can be......

In my 90 ive got black duck canvas seat covers in the front. (Rear seats removed) they are comfortable, great quality and look the part. Also the customer service is amazing. I ordered by email and received them the following day!

Melville and Moon are excellent but you are a tight arse so probably not for you.

I went Escape Gear canvas front covers (basically the same as Melville Moons and not cheap) and a dedicated dog cover/hammock in the rear - seems like a better option in the rear as its easier to clean, protects the seats well and it's not a big deal if it gets wrecked.

Where's the best place to get the black duck ones?

I'd love a set of these but they are for Jeep Wrangler, and being made in the US there are no Defender versions available.

They'd be very suitable for a Defender- ideal for a Perentie !

I have Melville and Moon. They are good, nice tight fit and look great. But I also have a Defender with $29 Aldi Canvas AutoXS seat covers, and whilst they are not very tight, they are extremely durable and also look pretty good. Comparing $29 to over $1000, is no comparison really, and I think the Aldi's are well worth the money when they have them in stock.

$1,000 ? for seat covers ? What the hell ?

They are vinyl seats after all not leather from extinct cows....

Be cheaper not to use seat covers and just retrim the seas later......

Try Juddy from Landybitz on the forum. I had a look at some seat covers he had at the big 4WD show recently in Queanbeyan and they looked really good.

Waiting in trembling anticipation for the delivery of my 110 either late March or early April...

If anyone is thinking of these (http://www.flatdoguk.com/defender%2D2007%2Donwards%2Dfront%2Dpair%7E795), here's a quick review.

I just bought a pair of these over Christmas. The material is very thick, easy to install with the clip and sits loose on the seat. So much so that it folds over at some spots.

In my opinion, if your looking for the occasionally protection for your seat, they fit the bill for price & protection. I'd probably not leave them on for every day use.

Very happy with our custom sheepskin jobs. Went with sheepskin as they're allegedly much more comfortable than canvas, and surprisingly cool in summer. Also got covers for the kids safety seats. Possibly not what you're wanting to pay though.

I don't need the robustness of the canvas covers and not really fussed on them anyhow (just my opinion don't flame me) has anybody got these Water proof seatcovers, The Wet Seat, car seat covers (http://www.thewetseat.com) fitted.

Any no were to get seat covers for the luxury option seats in the new defender??

I know this is out of line with all the other proposed ideas by the SCA ones I picked up for $39 (front and rear) fit well and are going fine. The only bad thing about them is that dust gets through them so the seat isn't completely clean underneath.

The Defender has a luxury option? That's disturbing enough in itself.

Ranga where'd ya get your sheepskin ones from ?

Acquired a set of MSA covers from the For Sale section of AULRO, recently

They are excellent. The dog loves them.

Just needed to put some 12mm brass grommets where the rear seats are bolted to the rear bulkhead of the 130 HCPU

for my two bob's worth -
we looked at MSA, but stalled and paid around $30 for some Aldi covers. they didn't fit (had correct seat size on label etc), and with lost receipt, lost $30.

After realising you usually get what you pay for, decided to go with a pair of Black Duck front seat covers. We thought if you're gonna buy premium with premium price, may as well buy home made.

The front set was so well-made, fitting was perfect, and 'they looked the part' we ordered some rear black duck covers.

we are really happy.

however, canvass does feel cold when first seating on frosty mornings, so we bought a set of Platinum Cloud Air sheepskin front covers from Super Cheap Auto for around $200 on sale. they fit really well and slip over the ducks. good quality too. even for full price, these covers seem excellent value

Go to eBay and reset your eBay to UK instead of Australia and search

Very cheap and then ask for shipping cost to Aus.

Will still make them cheaper than anything here.

I got a full set ( front and rear) for my defender that are Bearmach and fit great and really good quality , and under $100 delivered.

Apparently the Britpart covers are very good quality, and fit well. Otherwise ebay uk as has already been suggested.

I have genuine LR covers for my td5 and have bought a full set of LR ones for our new one. They are very nice, but damned costly.

Vlad why dont you get a quote from a canvas guy or seat trimmer for making a set you would only need the shape and ask them to put molly on the back then you can add pouches to your hearts content

I sewed my own own seat covers. If you can sew and have a good machine def seats covers are a pretty basic set up , front, back and piped side borders .Not to sure about exmoore ones ,,but if mine fitted like that I would sling them and start again. and next time use a tape measure

I may not of spelt it right but its the stuff that the defence force puts on all there gear so you can add pouches to backpacs and vests etc etc....its really good for personalising equipment

Have always had sheep skin, Have not long purchased a set of Black Duck for my Defender & will never go back to NZ covers.
As for the Jeep type above apart from been butt ugly and lots of silly bags sticking out they would not protect the seats on the corners, the most important spot.

As said they are nice as with a lot of Exmoor stuff but as with all the Exmoor stuff it's not an economical buy ,shall we say.

Personally I have a Brit part set and I am very happy with them and have been in my 110 front and rear for the last 5 years and still look like new. The rear ones have had two kids from birth on them in car seats and had all sort put and ground into them. And still they come back looking like new. They also fit nicely. Got mine of UK eBay cheaper than normal.

Pretty sure mine are Britpart as well, grey all over, small umbrella logo on them.

Mine were from ebay.co.uk, but have seen the same ones in Rovacraft in Ferntree Gully, Vic.

Mine cost me under a $100, are custom made for the Defender and fantastic quality. Would highly recommend, have been on for about 4 years, with kids and dogs in the Defender. Set was for front and rear seats, plus you get cover for front middle seat (some UK Defenders have middle front seat)cut mine up and used the material to make front headrest covers....:D

I got whale penis leather from Scandinavia (via a Russian distributor) that was almost $200 per square foot but I hand sewed it it myself to get a tight fit.
The biggest benefit with this material is that I dont get all sweaty when wearing lycra when I drive the old beast.

I'm not sure what concerns me more that fact you have covers made out of whale penis or the fact you feel the need to drive your defender in Lycra

I'll be getting Carl at Sandgroper Seat covers (http://www.sandgropercovers.com.au/page/377032205) to make mine. Dont be put off by the fact that he's in WA...free postage included !!!

He doesn't have Defenders listed, but I spoke to him this morning and he has the patterns, though he may need a photo of the interior to confirm...or mine to copy off !!

There is the choice between canvas and some other heavy duty material if your not into canvas or whale schlong leather :p
