sounds easy, until windows asks for the 8.1 file on DVD or usb,,,
makes it a bit harder when its just a downloaded file,(that I cant find-- where does windows download this stuff to?)

but you can download the WIN 8.1 iso file,, but cant do a clean install with it because you only have a Win 8 key----

sigh,,

You can use the KMS generic key to get up and running, then once you're in change to your own key. See Appendix A: KMS Client Setup Keys (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj612867.aspx)

I'm not sure if it was doing this, or the fact that I was re-using the same key with differant hard ware, but it wouldn't let me activate it, rang Mircrosoft and they gave me a code to put in, activated no worries :-)

I just upgraded my PC at work and was forced into W8. What a downright horrible piece of crap it is!

It took me half an hour to find my desktop, then another half to get back to the "apps". Can't wait to get rid of this shoddy OS!

Sadly I can't go backwards to W7 (thanks HP) so am eagerly awaiting W9.

I dont mind Windows 8 oddly enough.
I find it has sped up my various workflows quite a lot.
I work in retail (technology) customers are continually telling me how much they hate Windows 8.
Once you have the keyboard shortcuts sorted it's great!
