The boss has given me a couple of sheets of marine engine bay sound proofing that were surplus to a project . Looking at putting it under the bonnet of my 2.2 puma. The stuff is 25mm thick with an aluminium foil facing.
Having a look under the bonnet, it doesn't look like there that much room between the bonnet and the motor. Has anyone put a lining in and how thick was it?

Does anyone know if it will take the 25mm lining?

Cheers

Get some double-sided sticky tape...a piece of 25mm thick polystyrene foam offcut...stick it under the bonnet where you reckon you've got the least clearance...close/open bonnet and see if it's indented.
If not, add some more thickness till it touches the engine or whatever.

But cutting down on your ventilation may not be a good idea, PUMA experts will know for sure.

Thanks
My initial plan was to put a bit of expanding foam in a plastic bag, seal it up, shut the lid and once it's set then measure the thickness. But if someone else know first hand it would save me some time.

Don't think it will have any efect on the ventilation as it won't be near the gap between the bonnet and guards.
