I was planning to check the injection pump timing as per manual but mine doesn't have a line mark on jointing faces of pump and timing case-i assume there's meant to be one?

According to Isuzu workshop manual, there is a small inspection plate in the timing cover, there is an arrow on the housing this lines up with a notch on the pump drive. there are timing marks on the crank pulley. to change pump timing you have to remove and reinstall pump at correct alignment. N/A motors 13deg, turbo motors 10deg

I did see inspection plate but in the manual i have it definitely shows there's meant to be a notched line on pump housing in alignment with the timer bracket. The procedure for injection pump timing in my manual must be different to yours.

The line on the pump is so fine it's almost imaginary. Once you find it, hit it with a cold chisel to make it clearer.
The pump needs rotated, not removed to change timing.
