My latest info was that it was a great idea....but not overly successful as it was neither fish nor fowl. My previous post on this was only half-correct.

The concept was ... use the wheels for steering and propulsion, with the skirts (which could be raised/lowered) taking enough of the weight over unfavourable ground. Otherwise, it could be driven as normal on a solid road.

Effective hovering is done around 14 pounds per square foot and this - obviously - would be above that

A real hovercraft is designed to have an inch or two clearance, and this is why you need heaps of flow.

And this is a real hovercraft powered by a Land Rover diesel. - Maybe why it's being flat-bedded around the countryside....:angel::angel::angel:
