Tissot Touch for me.
I liked it because it had a big clear, high contrast face and the digital display was big enough to read without using glasses. Don't really use the gadgets on it.
Oh, and it's titantium, so it's very light.

The other end of the spectrum...
Here's my Old Faithful, picked it up as a 'work' watch about 10 years ago, - Cash convertors special. Changed the cell once.
But it's the most readable of any I've had, including a SEIKO dive watch, and luminous for hours at night. Both very useful at my vintage...

Nice clean analogue face with reverse LCD digital that can be turned off altogether. A slightly smaller watch which makes my wrists look thicker and more manly ;). Has survived being jammed in the snow more than a few times.

I've got the Loyal Adventurer, and have had it for about 4 years. It's pretty hefty, and feels high quality, though it went back for a warranty repair when the second sweep hand fell off.
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
I can only wear watches that are 100% stainless - anything else just rots or discolours. Leather straps fall apart in a year or so, anything that is plated (especially nickel plated) or painted the colouring just comes off after a few months.
I've chucked some pretty expensive watches out as a result. :(

I've never had much luck with watches, they always seem to stop working. :( The current collection is 4 broken Seikos similar to Bushies, a 4 dial Swatch, an old Tissot and this one which actually works. :D
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2014/02/230.jpg (http://s540.photobucket.com/user/DeanoH/media/TimexExpedition_zpsaee3f928.jpg.html)
What is interesting with this watch is that SWMBO picked it up on the side of a remote walking track in the Flinders Ranges some years ago. It had been there for some time as the band was almost bleached white. New band, new battery and it's been going ever since. :)
Also a Timex is the old wind up watch I got for my 16th. birthday which is also still going (if I wind it up).
Also in my (broken) watch collection is this little ladies watch, its face is about 16mm round.

Here's mine
https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/253x337q90/34/sghw.jpg
Rolex , Seiko kenetic, tissot, fishing bonuses from the 90's, I worked for myself after that so was to tight to lash out on a watch for a catch bonus. Lucky if they get worn once a year.
G-Shock gulfman, tide and moon phase as a daily wear watch, especially when I was fishing..
BUT my favourite https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/449x337q90/811/23js.jpg
First watch my wife bought me nearly 30 yrs ago and still going stong. That watch has been amazing its been submerged in acid, diesel and many other chemicals over its life, but other than faded colour its still going.
Cheers Ean

Deano H - are you able to safely remove the rear of the case. If its a genuine Rolex there ought to be additional information stamped there as well as on the movement.
If gold there ought to be hallmarks on the side of the case? If there are, how about some close up high res pics of that as well please.
My guess circa 1920's ladies 9ct hand wound watch.
Not going to be worth a fortune sadly (and that's if it's real), but a nice thing.

I guess it must be a real Rolex, who'd go to this much trouble for a fake ?
The case is hinged on one side and opens like an Oyster  hence the name Rolex Oyster I guess. Right on top of things me. :)

You'd be amazed how good some of the fake Rolexs are. More so the modern ones though as to the big $$$. No good reason to fake a watch like yours.
Looks real enough to me. And yes that's why it's called an oyster watch :)
VladTepes

OK a few things for your info:
The serial number dates it to 1927.
The 9-375 bit indicates 9ct gold
(A 9 carat gold is 37.5% of pure gold or 9/24 parts gold by mass)
For the other marks on the inside of the case - not very clear in the pic but on the RHS looks like an 'e' which would be the date stamp for 1927,which is consistent. The assay mark on the LHS is even less distinct but my best guess is Glasgow.
Indicating that the watch would have been imported to the UK via Glasgow and assayed there.
The R.W.C Ltd cartouche strikes me as odd in that the outline of the cartouche is not complete at the top. May not mean anything. Oh and RWC is, of course, Rolex Watch Company.
The 15 jewel movement is probably a Aegler (Rebburg), a company that made movements for Rolex.

I have an Omega Speedmaster ..MANUAL,....the original Moonwatch...Nasa certified...the only watch to land on the moon.....had it for 40+ years!me too! Mines got a leather strap which I much prefer. Although I haven't had it for 40+ years it is 40 years old :BigThumb: Terrific watches and still the only watch certified by NASA for its astronauts  also used by SR71 pilots
However! I must stop you. The Speedmaster was the FIRST watch worn on the moon - Buzz Aldrin's as Armstrong left his in the lander due to a malfunction - not the ONLY watch worn on the moon. On Apollo 15 David Scott (commander and first man to drive on the moon :D) wore a Waltham on the moon. Not many people know that
Anyway, a moonwatch!
