The top door hinges on the front of the County are a little loose and have a bit of play in them.

Is it a case of replacing the pins, or do I just buy new hinges?

Cheers

Hi

I had loose hinges. Both parts will be worn ie hinge and pin. If you want to minimize the freeplay you will have to replace both components.

I just replaced mine, didn't even look at just doing the pins. Parts were pretty cheap, but painting the hinges was hard as the paint wouldn't bond too well to the gal finish even with an etch primer that said it would.

Now the hinges are a lovely bright masai red and my doors are a drab faded masai red .

I bought new ones from the UK that came in a blue box. just as floppy as those I WAS going to replace, so beware of what you order. I've seen rebuilds shown on the web with bigger greaseable pins put into them.

There's not a lot of love around for the blue box brand. :D

It looks like they aren't servicable, so replace it is. I'll add it to the list.

I rebuilt 2 of mine and bought the others. I used roll pins rather than the bolt method, only because it looked neater. The bought ones were because the old ones were so badly flogged out. For the cost of quality UK item against my time.....id buy them.

As others have said before stay away from the blue box.
