Being civil has nothing to do with it. I'm just stating a fact. And we all have some hardships in our life, no one is alone in that. Bob

This is horrible, whenever I see something like that I feel people are just wasting their life's.

I have 3 phone / technology addicts in my household... none can communicate effectively, the youngest being almost totally imcompetant... well beyond what an 18 year old used to be like.
Only SWMBO has gained anything from her smart phone... playing on-line scrabble has indeed improved her vocabulary.... - and "on-line research" abilities..
- .finding cheats on the net ! .

Nice quote, and may well be true but not a quote of Prof Albert Einstain.
Just another email/web based misquote from someone stupid who wants to say something dumb but wants to make it sound smart and believable.
Come on people, I hate my kids constantly on their tech devices too. But have some faith in our young people.
One of those young kids might just be bolting and new heart and lungs into your chest in a few years!

I'm sure they had surly uncommunicative teenagers long before cell-phones.

After years of cajoling, reasoning and advice, I have given up trying to turn my teens from techno junkies into balanced humans.:(
Then recently, I discovered by accident that I could maybe use their addiction to meet my goals!
So now, when the young un's "don't know" how to fold washing, or cook pasta, or how to find a gift, I suggest they 'google it'! I even allow them to do it outside their 'screen time'.
Limited success but I guess it's early days.

Unfortunately, most of what mum emails me isn't fact checked but it's good for a giggle.
Her recipes she sends me are excellent though.

Some years ago, a group of teens (who had no experience) were told to boil an egg. This was a demonstration of the internet, not a demonstration of unworldly teems.
They had to research how to boil an egg and put what they learnt from the web into practice.
They couldn't do it properly.
The young un's will still need to be shown, guided, on how life is to be lived.
