Hello landy owners I have a problem with my defender 90 ,it has lost power with a louder vacuum cleaner noise under the car also engine light has come on, my car has done 43000 km and has been taken back to the dealer to be fixed , has any one had a similar problem I've been told it is probably a turbo hose issue,ps we are currently in darwin which is a worry

I'd say you've been told correctly - almost certainly the intercooler hose has rubbed through by the steering rod. A common fault that brings the "limp mode" in and the engine warning light up. Should be a simple fix and done under warranty.

Yep, as JayBoRover says above, inter cooler hose most probably.
If it is the inter cooler hose, make sure that you get the latest version of this as a replacement.
It comes with a special bracket that bolts on the alternator and holds the hose away from the plastic clip on the inner guard, the steering column and also away from the alternator as well.
I have had three different hose versions on my 2013 2.2 model 90, and only the latest version keeps the hose away from all the above areas which wear through.
Mike.

An update on my defender 90 apparently the hose from the turbo has a hole in it, which landrover have informed me will take nearly two weeks to get the part to the dealer up here in darwin from GB , but on the good side they have given us a free hire car, ps the Hyundai is no substitute for our loved 90 ,thanks to those who gave us good advise, with knowledge comes great power cheers
