Hi everyone

I'm starting a Tour Company and would like to ask this community if anyone knows of an Insurance company offering policies for 4x4 passenger vehicles.

Public liability is not a problem, but it seems that insuring vehicle and trailer is proving to be difficult even for the brokers we've been dealing with.

I’ve got a Disco 4 2013

Didn't see this one originally. My only guess would be to call others in a similar field. For example the local limo company also does airport transfers and often takes 4-6 in a limo with an enclosed bag trailer 6x4 or a bus with a larger bag trailer. It's not offroad but it is a modified vehicle used for a business towing and carrying passengers. They use the limo for the higher members and the bus for the deck crew when changing crews in port Kembla. Leisure coast limousines I think. We have used them for airport transfers in the past as quicker and easier and cheaper than train, cab combo.

Thanks guys, I finally got a broker (OAMPS) that was able to get me a quote from ZURICH. No other broker was able to find me an insurer. Insurance companies aren't interested in 4x4 tour operators. OAMPS is the broker that our Club uses for public liability.

The Company i used to work for (a 4x4 tour operator - buses) suggested me the broker they dealt with because they also have a small xtrail and they got it insured,
Their broker couldn't do it either. I found out that the reason they had the xtrail insured was because the buses where also insured and the insurance company did it as a favour. In conversation i mentioned to this broker that we found an insurer that gave us a quote (Zurich) and he was surprised because he also requested a quote from them but they wouldn't do it.

I also tried a broker through ANZ and they where going nowhere.

In the end I thought of trying the broker that insures the Club (OAMPS). I'm all legal now with liability and commercial passenger vehicle insurance and about to take our first guests for a five day trip in Far North Queensland.

Thanks Benji

It is labour intensive, but quite rewarding. Every trip is design from scratch and tailored to specific interests.

I simply got sick of doing the same trips day in day out for other companies and quite frankly found that customers could get a lot more from their trips then what they where getting.
Of course you get what you pay for.....

I'm now organising a Photography trip/expedition with two workshops, one in Nature Photography with an Internationally acclaimed photographer, and one with me about old photographic processes (Alternative Processes). It's a journey through modern technology and the beginnings of photography.
It's going to be a long trip/expedition, about two weeks.
We will be photographing wildlife, insects, reptiles, landscapes etc. in a portable studio and in the wild through some of the rugged country in FNQ.
