View Full Version : What does this mean??

I hoping someone can explain to me what this means. I asked my dealer to provide me with a final confirmation spec of our car, which according to the info provided will be delivered approx 7th June 2014.
What I got was a screen dump of a view order, I don't know if it is LR software or the dealers software, but it says:
Specification: Configured Vehicle Specification
Core Spec: Discovery TDV6 Diesel (LP) SE, Australia AUS, HQVH/350HB,2014 (HQVH), 2014 Model Year (001BV).
It then says the body colour, interior colour & 8 speed ZF Transmission, Build period (1404)
So..I gather its being built sometime from April this year & the colour etc is pretty straight forward. But what does (LP) SE mean?
It then also lists the options on the car including some I/we didn't choose - Powerfold exterior mirrors, Blindspot monitoring & a few others.
So I don't really know whats going on with these additional options, but they are not included in our contract or the contract price.
It would also seem that a VIN hasn't been allocated yet, which makes sense as it probably hasn't been finalised in the LR system.
So if anyone has any knowledge of the stuff mentioned above, Im curious to find out what it all means.
Thanks

LP probably means low power.
The 3l comes in two specs, yours may be the lower power.(replaced the 2.7l)

Hi Tiddy,
Isn't the SE model the 185kw engine as std?
The other items you mentioned that wern't on your contract
but on the build sheet are probably std on the
SE version anyway and if there not on your contract and you get
them then you've had a win:D

(LP) Lease Purchase?
What options have you spec'd. I notice with the vision pack on the website page when selected it also shows the blind spot and rear traffic sensor.

Its a TDV6 so low power/performance.

I wouldn't say the TDV6 is exactly low power or performance, yes it's not as powerful as the SE or HSE, but it if you read the rest of that line, it also said
SE, that's what has me confused, I know what a TDV6 is, but the SE has me curious.

Hi Capt, yes the SE is a higher output motor & is standard on the SE & above, it's just odd that mine is a TDV6, yet it has SE in the core spec description.
As for those options, maybe it's a win for me....time will tell

So you can now spec a TDV6 in SE? I just checked it the online configuration tool won't allow that. Colour me confused as the OP!

Hi Tiddy
I popped into my local LR dealer 2 wks ago to look at the MY14 demonstrator in the "flesh" -with my new HSE due to be delivered end April. He commented mine would look the same with the "Black Pack". I replied "but I haven't ordered the Black Pack". He showed me the LR order form with items I didn't specify in my contract- "Black pack", Sunroof, Electric cooler box in addition to the things I did order.
Then he checked my contract and confirmed I was right.......he looked rather anxious for a few minutes and promised to sort it out ASAP. He rang me within the hour explaining someone else's order was "superimposed" on my order and it will all be sorted out OK! This was after he confirmed my car was already built.
I am still wondering how the next call from the dealer will go next month! Could be interesting. ;)Regards, David

I recon this sort of thing happens all the time.
They rang me just before i picked mine up, and said,it has rear air.Apparently when it got to the dealer they discovered this,it was not on any of the paperwork.
They then said their would be no price change.
It was something we didn't want as the rear seats never get used.
Apart from that everything else was fine.
Once you guys get yours you won't want to get out of it:)

Don't sweat it; your contract states a certain specification and price, and they have to honour that. Mine came with Premium leather seats, not specified in contract or Topix, and wasn't charged for them (usually just under $4K extra).

The "SE" spec on the screen dump is what they would call it in the UK.
Got to remember that the UK has going from memory 8 or 9 different build spec's because they can & it is built locally & customers can basically order what they want. IE: Base model with 5 electric leather seats.
We can't do that & we get a choice of basically 3 models with options. (S, SE, HSE)
So even tho' you have ordered (at a guess) a TDV6 with extra's those extra's on the UK build spec will be an SE.
If you have the VIN it will read something like SALLAAAN5EA******
The "N" in the VIN determines LP.
Otherwise the VIN will read SALLAAAF5EA****** HP, & SALLAAAG5EA you have a DPF.

Tiddy,
It is all to confusing, I have my configured vehicle specification and I find it hard to follow:
Derivative, (HSVH) Discovery 3.0 V6 188KW Diesel (EU5 HP) HSE, Australia AUS, HSVH/350HH, 2014 and then later states (152AL) 183KW?
Is there a way to check up on the order is I have been given the VIN? Just to see if I am getting any freebies, tee hee!!! End of Mar can't come soon enough.
Cheers

If you have your VIN, Topix will give you your vehicle's build sheet, so everything is specified.

That's interesting to know, any idea how long it takes for a VIN to be allocated in the car order/build process?

Tiddy, I had a look on my vehicle spec sheet and the spec date was 10 Dec 2013 for a build date on 6 Jan 2014. On 14 Jan I was given my VIN number. Hope this helps.

As Stotty has said, once the vehicle goes into build, the VIN becomes available. If you know your build date which should be on the screen dump, then give it a week or so & the dealer should be able to provide you with the relevant info.
Cheers.
