Doing some servicing on my RRS including the diff and tfr case oils. Now I new the required Shell TF 0753 oil for the tfr case could only be obtained from a dealer and I got two litres for $140 :o.

However when I went to the usual spares places to look for the diff oil Castrol SAF-XO 75W/90 it was a no go - that oil is not even listed in the Castrol catalogue. The local dealer had some for a really good price which a got - list is again around $140 for two litres.

Nulon have a listing for RRS/D3 diffs but I have not heard of anyone using it and how suitable it is.

So anyone used this Nulon diff oil or any other or alternative where have you been able to get the Castrol SAF-Xo 75W/90.

Thanks

Garry

From what the poms are saying over on disco3.co.uk, any 75/90 or 80/90 should be fine for the diffs unless you have a rear e-diff.

Usually these Castrol oils are a brew they make particularly for the car maker. I had a BMW M3 that required I think the same stuff in the rear LSD and the special brew was to reduce "chattering" by the LSD.
I paid something like $120 about 4 years ago at the BMW dealer.
Many blokes on the BMW forum used Redline diff oil and reported that it was great.

CASTROL SYNTRAX LONG LIFE 75W-90 is the Castrol replacement and available from Autobarn $30/l.
Carbon mod plus for rear e diff is available through Holden dealers a lot cheaper than through Land Rover.
