It is with much sadness that I inform the group of the passing of one of our members, and a good friend of mine here in Canberra.
Craig Dawson (Craig_Keira here on AULRO) was in his early 40's when he suffered a heart attack on Monday afternoon, and could not be revived.
A true gentleman, knowledgeable on a great many topics, willing to help anyone, and provided great service to his community. He was also a true P38 enthusiast.
Photo below was taken in October 2013, when Craig used his P38 to rescue horses from bush fires in the Blue Mountains and relocate to safe locations.
Rest in peace mate, you will be missed.

Bugger. Great guy alright... it feels like only yesterday I gave him a lift to pick up his P38 down on the Mornington Peninsula. Many condolences to those left behind.

That's right Dave, was about 2 years ago he picked up that P38 in Melbourne. He kept saying what a nice bloke you are... obviously didn't spend enough time with you :)
I went and met with his extended family and many friends today at his place. A good bunch of people. His P38 will continue to serve the Heavy Horse community as his close friend Karen is taking it over. I will be suggesting that Karen join this group very soon, and I know we will all make her welcome.
Craig's funeral is on Wednesday, with a procession of motor bikes from Canberra Riders and perhaps a few P38's.
