I was next to a TD5 Defender yesterday, and saw he had a gauge pod above the standard gauges. I had considered a Mud pod previously, mounted centrally, but thought it would block your view of your front left corner. This one is partly blocked by the steering wheel, but doesn't affect your view of the bonnet.

Has anyone tried this?

I have a Raptor pod centrally mounted on the 110 and I was like you thinking it would block vision somewhat, but in reality its ok. The above normal instruments position I thought about but having it sat there, not connected, for a week I found it annoyed me when turning the wheel in offroad situations. My fingers kept brushing it! and the gauges were obscured. It would be a personal thing I think. Do as I did and try it, often suck it and see is the only way! :D

I've got a home made one, centrally mounted and I've found it quite easy to live with. I spose it's because our bonnets are lower than the Patrols and cruisers so we can get away with it.
