HANNIBAL RACK & TENT

Writing to get any feedback if anybody has put a Hannibal full length roof rack on a Puma 130 with a Hannibal Safari Roof Top Tent and if so your thoughts on them.
I have a Puma 130 which I'm going to get a canvas canopy put on followed by the roof rack and roof top tent

Also on a 110. I have the rack, awning and 2m tent. Fantastic gear. You won't be disappointed.

I have the full length rack, awning, and ladder. My rtt is of a different brand, but is on the list of things to be upgraded - at which time I will most probably fit a hannibal.
The rack is brilliant. We sat two kayaks on it on our honeymoon to Moreton Island. Have also loaded it up with swags and spacecases for boys weekends and such.
The awning - whilst expensive - is so easy to use and very robust. It is the starting point of a lot of camping conversations too. "Your awning has no legs!?"
The ladder (fitted behind right hand rear door) makes access to the rack very easy.
As I said, my rtt isnt a hannibal, but that's what I want to get. Regardless, my tent opens up over the back, so the room attaches and encloses the tailgate and tub. This also allows you to crawl out the front window of the tent onto the rack. This is a great way to watch a sunrise or sunset.

Thanks for the feedback. The mob that is going to fit the canvas canopy says that I need to have roof rack plates fitted to the canopy frame for the rack. Looking at a photo of a 130 fitted with a Hannibal full length roof rack the roof rack looks like it doesn't touch the canopy, instead it is supported by three legs on each side over the canopy and the rear of the rack attaches to the rear of the tub/tray.

My full length rack attaches to the gutter of the cab (the three legs you mention, but they all connect to a common "foot" - I.e: supported by the full length of the gutter) then there's two legs holding up the rear of the show that sit on the hoops under the taillights. Seems to work so far.

A thought came into my mind.
The cab and the tray are separate and as the chassis flexed and moved around would that put the full length rack under stress.

Jim,
The rack is bolted to the cab roof by the gutters. The tray/tub is, as you stated, separate. The rear rack supports then attach to the hoops protruding from either side of the tub underneath the taillights. They are designed so as they support the weight of the rack, but are not bolted at the weight bearing point on the rack- rather further inward on a stay which helps hold the support leg under the rack.. the result being that should it really want to flex, it can do so a fair way.

Thanks Cammo. I think I can picture it in my mind. If it isn't too much trouble a photo would be great. I didn't think Hannibal would overlook this problem when they designed the rack, however I felt I had to ask.

PM LandyBitz on here, he has a 130 will full length rack, not sure if its Hanibal or patriot but he has the canvas back and full length cage of soem sort (I think anyway)

worth chassing him down about it anyway.
