Purchased my 110 puma last October and have now done nearly 10,000Ks. Since about 1000Kms there has been a clunk whenever setting of from a standstill in either forward or reverse. This last week the clunking started happening on most gear changes so I decided to have another look underneath. While gently rocking the car by hand I found the noise was coming from the flanged joint where the rear prop shaft connects onto the rear of the transmission brake.
All four of the nuts on the rear of the flange were loose!!!
Does anyone know if this is just a flanged joint or is it splined as well? Obviously I'll be taking it in to have it fixed under warranty but was wondering if its just a case of the nuts being tightened or if bits will need replacing due to the bolt holes in the flange having been elongated with the nuts being loose?
Cheers
Andy
