Finally finished doing a oil/filter service on my new rangie.
Had to go down to tool shop to get the 36mm socket to change the oil filter..:)
Got it undone,cleaned the old fluid out of the chamber and top,put new filter in and put it all back together.Made sure everything was tight and all tighteners accounted for. All good,put new oil in it,checked to make sure of any leaks..none...:D and then went for a short drive to get all the messages off the dash..:).
All good..
2 hours later...just checked the oil level..all good.. and then I started looking for the top off the oil canister that I had dropped while trying to put back on..couldnt find it but no great harm in it not being there.. but did notice a hose that came up from underneath the oil filter assembly and couldnt find where it went..
Anyone know what its for and what its supposed to connect to..

Thought of that Scouse but its got the ribbed bits near the end of it so something must connect to it ..but what??

some more pics of end of hose,it sit roughly an inch and a bit above the heat shield that you can see below...:)

Not sure Scouse, it comes from underneath the front of oil filter housing and loops around and the end is pointing towards the back of the block..

Have checked all hoses in the vicinity and there all connected bar that one..
