Finally after nearly 12 months of trying different systems, I have finally got almost what I wanted in a work vehicle. (2012 130)
Typical payload consists of:
400l diesel
100l water
combined 100l of oils and fluids
large air compressor with rattle guns/drills etc
about 150kg of tools
spares for earthmoving equipment.
chains, straps etc
Ive also got 240v to the rear via an inverter, LED work lights,
and room for the dog.
The false floor has lids over the wheel arches and the frame is made of 50x50 4mm square tube and was designed to carry a ton on the top of the false floor. Cost was nearly identical to a custom steel tray, but I like the look of the HCPU tub and no one knows there is 400l of deisel onboard. GVM is about 3300kg which still gives me a couple of hundred kgs up my sleeve. The only thing left to do is go to a 265/75/16 on a blindo wheel to improve the stability on dirt roads, as the skinny michelins dont cut it unless you have 70psi in them.

Yep the water tank sits along the front of the tub, built out of stainless so it's safe for drinking. I had the chequer plate bent up on top to protect the tank. A company down here in Queanbeyan NSW made both tanks for me, Austech Engineering.

G'day Summiitt, which Blindo wheels are you going for? I'm looking at those too but I'm not sure which one to go for to fit 255/85 or 265/75 when it comes time for me to replace the OEM rubber.

I was running 265/75 on a set of??? The non Dakar wheels by terra firma with the bead lock option, they were awesome, tough and durable and completely changed the ride of the 130. They were Mickey Thompson mtz and will be heading in that direction for the next set. There seems to be a slight difference between blindos and terra firma dakars..either way they are a good look for the vehicle.

FYI, the beadlock TF alloys are +10mm, so not much difference to those Blindos - I'd love to see a picture once they're fitted!

Summit, that looks like a very well thought out, practical, unit which is definitely going to earn its keep.
