Seat covers for Perentie's Isri seats

Was curious if anyone has fitted generic seat covers (the 60/25 full-back style) to the Isri seats of their Perentie?

The seats in my truck are good; the passenger's seat is pristine; the driver's seat is good but has a couple of minor small cracks in the vinyl. I thought a pair of seat covers would help protect the wear surface of the seat, prevent getting 1st-degree burns to the back of the legs on hot days, and cover up the fact that like a lot of Perenties, the seats are mis-matched, which is suprisingly my wife's biggest gripe with the vehicle - other than noise......obviously.

I wasn't sure how the generic seat covers would fit as the Isri seats seem a little thin through the back compared to a lot of other vehicles. Bloody comfy though......a far cry from the Series 1!

Any feedback appreciated.

I've fitted the Smittybilt GEAR seat covers to mine. They work well, even if designed for a Jeep.

Jeez guys, decisions - decisions!

I like the Smittybilt ones Gromit; not sure how they'd go with me though as I'm 6'2" and long in the legs with it. I have my seat cranked back almost to the ROPS bar so not sure how the pouches would go for clearance.

I like the polyester camo covers also Bruce; pricing seems very good also for what are heavy duty waterproof covers. Does the polyester get hot and sticky or does it breathe OK?

The left hand side of my brain is telling me to go with canvas or polyester as it'll be practical. The right side however is telling how good a pair of mocha sheepskin covers would be - warm when it's cold, cool when it's hot. Would just have to cover them though when they're likely to get dirty or throw them in the washing machine.

Like I said - decisions - decisions! Will have to let the two brain halves duke it out - I'll let you know who wins!

I got some auscam seat covers made up. Look good & wearing well. But were expensive relative to others.

I know you asked specifically about generic seat covers, but Robco in Sydney are the manufacturer of the original Perentie ones. They'll make fitted canvas covers for the ISRIs in whatever colour you like - including auscam. I went for a forest green as my Perentie won't be auscam for much longer.

It was nice actually seeing where everything was put together; I even met the guy who made my covers. Now THAT is a rare thing these days in Australia :(

Well I've taken the poor man's approach for now; we happened to have a pair of medical sheepskins in a cupboard at home from when my daughters were infants. The missus was going to give them to the dogs for mattress covers, but I intervened. They are now fitted to the Perentie seats with a flat occy strap holding them at the junction between squab and back, and with a length of khaki cotton banding tied around the seat back holding them at their top end.


Not beautiful (but it is a Perentie after all). They are surprisingly comfy, they raise you noticeably on the seat squab, and give extra support to lower and small of the back. I figure they are at least reducing the day-to-day wear on the seat vinyl, if I'm muddy I can take them off, and they can be easily washed every now and then.


Of course the dogs are ****ed at me now tho....
