Sorry if this seems an obvious question... But...
Why does the car settle when locked ?
After stopping after a drive everything is fine. As soon as the car is locked, there is a hiss from the car and it settles around 20mm all round... Is this normal? And why does it do it?

Cheers
Daryl

Hi Daryl,

The initial adjustment after you have exited the vehicle is most likely the D4 adjusting the height back to the preset tolerance after losing your bodyweight. It probably lifts as you leave ( take the weight off ) and then corrects itself once it senses it has gone too high. The air control module actually 'wakes ' up periodically, the first time 2 hours after the last time the ignition was switched off, and then once every six hours. 'The vehicle height is checked and if the vehicle is not level within pre- set tolerance, small downwards heights adjustments may be made automatically' quote from the workshop manual. Have a look at Dave's shop. He now has the manual available on disc. If it is the same as what I have, be prepared for some heavy reading. 7000 pages!!!

I like it haha it's pretty funny when you get out hear it dumping air and settling down sometimes on a bit of a hill it lets a fair bit out. Always makes people laugh when you take them for a drive and them get out after you turn it off and the cars settling down haha.

We went on an excursion over the weekend through the blue mountains and my father in law has been renegaded to the 3rd row as our kids and mother in law take up the middle. As he jumps out it oozes down which always gives us a good chuckle
