Anybody that has insulated there Puma.

Is the roof a major contributed to noise or do most of you focus on he firewall and floor for noise reduction and the roof is more for heat insulation.
I'm trying to figure out if pulling my new roof lining out is worth the hassle if it's sound insulation I'm after.

Cheers.

Anti drum insulation would be good in the roof. It is a large metal sheet that does resonate in the slipstream somewhat. So the stick on stuff to stop/ reduce it will help.

I read an article in LRM (so it must be God's word) where it stated over 70% of Defender cabin noise enters from under the bonnet and trough the windscreen. I ended up insulating under the bonnet with some 12 mm sticky backed insulation I got from rare spares ($78.00) and also some 3 mm bitumen insulation sheets also from rare spares($130). It has made a hell of a difference. With my decibel meter, it showed a drop of 8-10 dba and I can hold a conversation quite easily now.
Cheers Ian

I fitted one of these. probably the best money spent for noise reduction.
Had more effect than all the insulation I had fitted inside the cab.
