Hi All, I have done some research into a replacement alternator for the D3 instead of using the Denso alternator, I have found a Jaylec replacement at $495 delivered to my door. Has anyone used there alternators or think it would be worth giving it a go, seeing that I have gone through 3 Denso alternators to date.

I would be looking for root cause as well as a replacement unit.
There has to be a reason your vehicle is chewing them up.

I run an axillary battery, when towing I have 2x 100amphr storage batteries in my caravan that if required are charged through a 12v to 12v Engel battery charger which runs off the axillary battery. Normally these batteries are charged via my roof mounted solar panels. Other than that no faults have showed up in the last 12 months since I repaired the compressor

I agree with Tombie. There must be something else causing this problem, may be earthing problems or intermittant short somewhere or something. I was waiting for Graeme or Tim to chime in with their knowledgeable input on such subjects but so far nothing from them on your problems.

Better wait for Tim...
