Hi guys,

Loving the D3, such a smooth drive and has more punch than I expected from the TDV6. I have to take the vehicle back to the dealer to look at a few things tomorrow, one of which is minor but annoying. The second issue, however, has me a little concerned. It has only happened a few times this week and in similar circumstances.

When either coming to a complete stop at lights, stationary at lights or just taking off at lights (low throttle, good gap between other vehicle and me etc) a single warning chime has sounded but no light has displayed on the dash. Dealer first suggested it was the front parking sensor but it is a different sound.

I should add that thus has only occurred in wet conditions and has only happened three times in the past week. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

James

Ha, I did on two occasions! But once there was no one in the vehicle but me. It is a single chime/noise.

I gather it is summer down under but here at +4C, you hear a single chime and a snowflake symbol appears on the centre display, at least on a 3.

The
"Random Boing"
D3's seem to have a habit of it. Mine won't do it for weeks, then 4 times in a week.
Just 1 of the things that gives the car a bit of personality.

I'm having the same thing happen in regards to the chime but no errors or lights coming up. Dealer says no faults are being logged when they plug into the car so they not sure what it is.

They also asked about having something on the front passenger seat.

Weird.

Hi,

I had the same random single chime on my D3 for the whole time I owned it (from new for 4 years). Had the passenger seat sensor changed by the dealer at one stage as they suggested that it may have been the problem.

Never solved it. Never was an issue other then being annoying. I thought at one stage it was related to the operation of the A/C, but didn't manage to sort it out.

Anything in the 'Message Centre' (the i on the end of the indicator stalk)?

Nothing. Nothing at all. Dealer looked at it today, couldn't find anything and no faults had been logged when they plugged it in.

A phantom chime it seems.
