View Full Version : Rear accessory power socket - have I got one?

I have a MY13 Discovery TDV6 with 5 seats (previously had a Pajero with 7 seats and 2 kids and never used the rear seats, so I figured they weren't essential and this was the only non-accessorized D4 I could get in the "Main Event" sale). I've been searching for the power socket that is supposed to be in the rear compartment, but cannot find it  It's mentioned in the handbook and the Spec sheet, but I also see it's also mentioned in the 7-seat option pack. I assume I don't have one because I don't have the 7 seats. Could someone confirm this?
I was wanting to get an ArkPak rather than fitting a dual battery for Outback trips. Is it possible to connect one to all that wiring in the rear left compartment behind the tail light? There seem to be some sockets there.
Thanks for the help

I have the seven seater, so the power source is immediately obvious on the left handside just below the storage box lid on the side facing inwards.

Inside the tow hitch door, you will find the cabling that supplies the white trailer point at the rear of the car.

I tapped into the accessories one (I have a fridge storage box in front now so not easy to get into to photograph, but was easy to find) to hook my 20amp dc to dc charger in to, and has been working well at supplying power to my battery for the past 2 1/2 years....it may have been the 30amp Accessory cable. My battery is stored in front of the fridge box.

Have a look at this thread, there is a wiring schematic for the trailer plugs and shows which is the always on battery feed and which is engine on only feed.

5 seaters do not have the power socket.
The socket can be purchased for approx $20 & can be fitted in less than a minute as the wiring IS there.

Cheers.
