As per the attached photo. When I fill up my 110 (diesel) fuel is seen to be exiting from an unknow location. The photo shows it leaking somewher central, on other occasions the pool of fuel is right behind the rear right tyre. Other times I fill up nothing happens?

Advice???

When filling up are you stopping on the first click or trying to get a bit more fuel in?

How about the tank breather hose ?
Easy way is to get underneath when it leaks, look UPwards and........

Re filling up further than last click, havent paid too much attention. I will assess that inquiry though.

You got kids or grandkids of responsible age? A digital camera ? Over fill it like mad, the offer them a Large Inducement appropriate to their age to crawl under and take pics of exactly where it's dripping from... (lollies, pocket-money, national beverage... )
Half the fun of owning a Land Rover is....finding the faults. Spread the joy. :D

yep I had same thing happen first few weeks of new puma ownership... freaked right out.... found lots on various forums about stopping filling on first click, since then no worries... it's overflow for want of a better word... just control the urge to fill the tank to the throat ;)

I'll bet my left one that it will be coming from the tank breather. Read this thread http://www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130-defender-county/175859-puma-overfill-fuel-tank.html one of many. My reply on page 3 and since I've done this little mod I haven't had the problem and I fill right to the top, well about 50mm down.

Mine did this when new because a oring at the top of the tank was twisted. This is a safety issue and very dangerous for motorbikes. The tank should not leak under any situation.

Did you use hi-flow fuel nozzle at the pump? I did use hi-flow a couple of times and then the fuel breather started leaking. Dealer fixed it for me under warranty.:D

me too.
the breather hose thats connected to the filler port, perishes at the tank end first, then the filler port, and lets the hydrocarbons out. also remember if it can get out nasties can get in. make sure to replace it with aftermarket fuel hose, the LR original i used failed again after 6 months.
