Good Evening,

I've recently bought a FC IIB which was up for sale here in the UK recently.

I've been into 80" Land-Rovers for some 28 years but fancied something different but equally challenging on the parts front.

I was attracted to the vehicle I bought because it was low mileage, with running gear and chassis in good order. There appears to be little to do to get it back to completely 'original'.

One thing I know I do need is an exhaust manifold for the 6 pot 2.6ltr engine. I am aware that a fair number of people have ripped the original engines out for any number of reasons.

If anybody has an intact manifold for sale I would love to hear from you.

Regards

Richard

Good Evening All,

I don't know as you all you guys saw the FC 2B 6 pot engine for sale here in the UK two weeks back. It is reported as seized and with water in the sump (not a good sign really) but the pictures showed it had what appeared to be an intact exhaust manifold so I've bought it.

Maudie (off the 900 club forum - I don't know if he's on here) has kindly offered to pick it up from South Wales and move it up to Yorkshire meaning I only have a 600 mile round trip to recover it).

Hopefully the engine will yield some usable parts.........

Regards

Richard

The manifolds on the 6's are a known weak point. The rest of the engine is fine, if a little underpowered. There were new manifolds for sale at one point, not sure if they're still available - ill see if I can find them.:)

A few pics of the FC would be good to post up here too if you cagey your camera out.:)
